JB--
The Staten Island daily is called the \"Advance\".
In the early and mid 1990s, they devoted quite a bit of space to Racing at NYRA,
Monmouth and the Meadowlands with fairly extensive daily analysis; this coverage
seems to haved been replaced by expanded coverage of mens and womens high school
sports.
The fellow who used to cover the flat tracks, who shall remain nameless, seems to
have dropped out of sight. A rumor which is too good to be true is that in the
days before enhanced facilities security and direct payroll deposits, this
writer\'s bookie would be waiting at the Advance offices each Friday to
collect \"his\" paycheck.
