The trainer agrees with you guys here. He said after the race that \"I have a really good horse, I just have a miler\" not a classic distance horse.
I thought Martinez did fine. He was not right on the 46 pace, ala Talamo (questionable ride by Joe). He sat off of it and then assumed the lead on the far turn, which is often the winning move in the Derby. One of the guys who I was with, who bet on Noble\'s Promise hard, said after the race, \"he was right in position, made the winning move, then realized he was by Cuvee and ran out of gas\".
I was at the Meadowlands Pegasus and Brad Thomas, who is amongst the best public handicappers IMO said before the race that he wished he could get a BC Sprint futures bet down on Noble\'s Promise because he thinks the horse is extremely talented but just won\'t get the 1 1/4.
