due to the commentary regarding LAL on dirt?  Curious.  I did - couldn\'t get it out of my mind while handicapping the Preakness two weeks later.

Yes. That and the fact that Baffert didn\'t work him fast after the Derby caused me to believe that he was a tired horse that wouldn\'t handle the surface and was likely to stop at the 1/8 pole like PoTN.

Mon,

Read that many times. I\'ll guess that most did not bother to look at the fact LAL was NEVER drilled like a normal Baffy horse, going back to last year and pre derby. Smallish horses, like LAL, rarely get drilled once they are fit.The \"no work theory\" was out there in la la land as to LAL\'s condition as he proved by running his best race ever.I wondered if LAL was body sore from being mugged in the derby.

Someone else posted that TAP made a mistake by working SS (3f in 36ish)between the derby and Preakness, so I\'ll guess that had SS NOT worked, he would have not bounced to the moon.

I completely agree with you.  I totally misread LAL and am curious about the effect that TAP\'s work had on SS, especially since he ran his race for 8F.
