Congratulations to Millenium Farm and Mike McCarthy for Expansion\'s win in the GIII Fair Grounds Handicap. That was the 85th horse bought on Thoro-Graph\'s recommendation to win a stake.

(And that particular one took a lot longer than I thought it would).

Didn\'t do the analysis, and didn\'t say I bet it. His last was so bad it was scary. Used him lighter than the ones I did like, and made just a little on the race.

So,Alan (or someone other than JB) writes the analysis - but JB does the advising for Millenium Farms, correct?  That is, the ownership advisement is not a TG product?  Or did TG advise a good customer (with many successes of such), yet not endorse that advisement to other customers of a different product?  Do you see my concern here?

I don\'t post often but i have to say something here. I appreciate the weekly free race and free analysis. There have been many good hits along the way too. More important it is frequently instructive to see another experienced player read the race.
As for the post by Shannie i think its laughable to suppose and silly to allege that TG intentionally put the crowd off the scent here and scored at the expense of its customers. Remember the pacific classic a couple of years ago? Not all of the touted house horses have come in but that one did.
Sometimes a horse surprises its owners and trainers, even in stakes. Looking at Expansion\'s sheet that\'s most likely what happened.
So are you saying that you\'d rather they not post an analysis and give us free sheets each week?

Shanahan-- as it happens, in this case, I did not pick the spot. But regardless, you buy horses because of what you think they will do over a period of time, not in just one race, and you manage horses to put them in the best spot, which has NOTHING to do with whether they are good bets.

I bet out on that SOB in his previous start at SA when he ran terrible, for what it\'s worth.

JB - Thanks, but I was trying to look at it from your side per my post - I\'d never have known if not for your post on picking out the horse for them.  As one who is going back into the ownership side, I must say the advice you post on seems to pay quite good dividends so it has my attention.  I appreciate you clearing it up, but I doubt I\'m the only one who had concern upon reading yesterday post.

Tellmonies - you misinterpret.  It was a fair question, not an accusation or a referene that is was a shady deal.  I know the difference between TG and say...John Piesen.

To me it sounds like this.

JB and his team advise clients on which horses to buy. They see potential for future success.  When that success will occur, how do they know??

They don\'t have a crystal ball which tells them exactly when a horse will win. Horses surprise all the time. This horse won a race unexpectedly, at least according to the analysis done by someone familiar with reading TG.  Really see nothing unusual here.

P DUB - it doesn\'t matter if the horse won or not, that\'s the point I was trying to make...if TG is involved in it,....never mind, it\'s a point of irrelevance by now.
