A horse I own made a-4neg.Does anyone think he\'s got a shot in the Woodward on Labor Day?

all depends on the line, and how big the top was, when was the neg 4? If it was recently, I assume you would train him right up to it. Can you fill in the details?

Any horse with a \"legit\" neg TG -4 has to have a chance.Forget the number,how did the horse come out, knocked out, pissin and squealing?

Did he earn the neg-4 or did it fall into his lap by dynamics? Was it a huge top, ground loaded?

It was the 9th at Calder on Sunday.He won under wraps after spotting weight and a 3 wide trip.Rider couldn\'t pull him up and needed the outrider to help.Wasn\'t beating much but the time was the fastest 8.5 in 3 years at this track.He came out good and will train up to the Woodward if we decide to go.

MM ran pretty solid neg fig after looking at the day and Beyer/TG(no Rags yet).Question is, can run 2 biggies back to back, seems in lifetime form though.

Have seen MM race many times for Phil G, solid citizen on his best.Believe he shipped to the SPA before.Calder shippers always legged up and dangerous.

  Can the number be dismissed that easily when it\'s part of a succession of numbers that reflect an individuals ability and cycle?

The first barometer is up to 72 hours following any race, especially a big one. All that you mention comes next.If the horse comes out knocked out/nfg,all else is moot.MM is an older hard knocker that likes Calder,so there could be many other variables with him.

Most don\'t run back to the
\"big one\" right away regardless of condition.Of course anyone can cite examples to the contrary,but I firmly believe the \"big one\" knocks most out despite the
\"tearing down the barn\",\"pissin vinegar\" attitude of the individual.The most perplexing thing is seeing a horse with a great line and a  \"pissin vinegar\" attitude packing it in at the 1/8 pole.Nothing personal towards Rayj,but if they decide to go in the Woodward I hope the public jumps all over MM.I think he\'s toast next out.

Gambling SOLELY off \"theories\" based on unscientific numbers on a piece of paper is a one way ticket to the Bowery.Many have tried.

MM beat 3 horses, tracking a quitting speed and running off at 1-5.Doubt he will have those dynamics in the much, much, much tougher Woodward.Woodward will  have very different competition/dynamics and probably lead to a much different result, having zero to do with being knocked out from his neg-4.

That\'s what people said about him in the BREEDERS CUP in 09.But for some rough riding by Calvin Borel there might have been a different result.Getting beat by 2lengths anyway wasnt too shabby.
