McPeek at the Spa

Is McPeek out of his element or out of the Blue Grass juice? Scotus was dead on the board yesterday and ran worse at  13/1. Illegally Blonde ran like a dog while being sent off the favorite. In Ky you must consider every horse he enters as live, here he is a throw out. Just watched Perfect Joiski run 7th. Am I off base here or is he better 2nd time over the track?

I don\'t think he\'s the only Churchill regular getting his butt kicked at the Spa...but this is a solid bunch...watch them all after they\'ve trained there awhile and second or third out.  Maker, Romans, Keneally, etc.

McPeek, Kenneally & Amoss all had big Churchill meets and when you win a lot at a preceding meet many of your horses will run out of their conditions. It happens a lot with trainers who do well at Belmont and then very little at the Spa meet.

The KY guy\'s seem to run in spurts up here, some years they take a lot of money home others not so much. All of the above are solid trainers and will win there share at this meet. McPeek was supposedly loaded and primed for a big meet up here and he has some real nice babies to come out.

Watch him as there are 33 more days and the next condition book is a little more non NY bred friendly.

Illegally Blonde was not expected to win because there was limited turf in her pedigree. IE-the race was a conditioner.

Not sure on the rest of the horse but Frank D is spot on about moving out of one Good Meet and on to another where the Comp is even tougher.

It would be a very tough spot, but I would love to see him cut Scotus back and put him in the kings bishop. I think it could be his ideal distance.

Told Steve Byk and Bobby G. I was Robby bashing this am. He\'s still tough to bet with any confidence, the horse was a nice over lay and moving forward.

Washington Rules in here in the 6th. A horse they were high on at GP. Lots of Darkened Form. May not run a jump but clsoed well at CD on July 4th after a rest.

Well that could be! But he is a good guy and a friend so I\'m not gonna go there. Interesting that when he did get back to Ky in Apriul Jock Agent Ron Anderson saw fit to give Alan Garcia first call on everything at Kee that was wining left an right.

Magdalena is KP\'s own Partnership Syndicate so he has his a bit of his money where his mouth is there. Heard he was offered between $200-$300K for Washingtmons Rules after that Spa runnerup debut last summer. Probably wish they had taken the money now but thats how the game goes.

Nobles Promise in the Vanderbilt. When he shipped to Calder to run in th $400K Smile, the trainer stayed north at the Sales. Horse did not run like somebody who was gonna get a picture taken. But still a nice $15K buy.....
