\"Whats wrong with a short odds MTO drawing the
one box and having to fight a dead rail?
Bee,
Simple, smug NYRA does not listen to \"outsider\" suggestions. They have control of day to day racing and only NYRA shills get their opinions heard, their blather ubiqutous.
Possible good news, two powerful State Senators at the forefront of the NY racing committee\'s, seeking legal opinion on pulling the franchise on NYRA and looking for major restructure bringing in a much higher level of business expertise at senior management level.Incidentally, since the NYC OTB debacle, Albany politicians are listening much more OUTSIDE the purview of those who have failed NY racing miserably,i.e NYRA, it\'s same clueless politically appointed or insider stooge board members and the Albany crowd that had control of racing.
If the two senators can get Gov Cuomo, his powerful racing czar, Lehmann Bennett,(sp) and Sheldon Silver on board, there could be major restructuring of NY racing and casino gambling. A good bet in the near future that goes way beyond Aqueduct slots to full blown casinos.
At least there are far more serious discussions taking place about racing than Lasix, which is heading the wrong way and will probably hurt US racing. How about \"stepping out\" on a horse who trails, bleeding from the nose/mouth, should be a big help to the gamblers and the image of racing.
