Mike Mitchell at Del Mar

Congratulations to my friend and trainer Mike Mitchell on a fantastic Del Mar meet. Mike was leading trainer with 25 winners from only 81 starters, an over 30% winning percentage. Mike is also the all time leading winner in Del Mar history with 454 wins.

Yes, but that 31% win rate (remarkable for any other trainer) was actually a disappointing decline from the 44% win rate he achieved at the spring Hollywood meet.  Is Mike now entering a slump, where we should expect his win percentage at Oak Tree to only sit somewhere in the unimpressive 20\'s?

  Thus proving that Mike Mitchell is a better trainer when Frank is not at his side.
