Hollywood Cancels

Everything was a refund.  Even if you had the winner of the sixth.  Even the pick six if you had the first three winners.  Not aware of these rules  I remember years ago when Saratoga cancelled they paid first three winners all all all in pick six.  And always pay consolation if you have first winner. ?????????

Their theory was that the bet was you had to pick 6 winners, not 3, so they decided to give the money back. If they had kept all the money and paid out ALLs, people would have complained that they \'stole\' the takeout without giving the players a fair shot to win a boatload of money. If you had the longshot winner of leg 2, its just a bad beat. Bad beats happen, try again on Thursday.

California rules state that the pk6 needs to be at least four races to be considered valid, if four races are not run they give full refund.

They did not give refund.  They put it into a carryover for next racing day.  They also did not pay consos to those who had winner of sixth race in doubles, pick 3 and pick 4.

Sorry, I am mistaken.  The pick 6 pool was refunded.  Just the previous carryover goes to the next racing day.

At least California has clear rules and follows them.  Anybody remember the fiasco in NY this summer.  Didn\'t they decide to NOT pay out the pick-6, when the last two races were weather cancellations and then carry over everybody\'s money into the next day?
