There\'s more discussion here about Bruce Springsteen than horses. We need MJellish or Jim C to post some \'behind the scenes\' writeups and some winning picks. I think we could all use a few extra bucks to pay the mortgage, no? lol
We all know the biggest problem with the game is lack of leadership. I\'m not saying we need a national commish, but we need track owners and racing commissions to rule their own tracks with iron fists, but all we get is a soft stance to cheating and racing boards looking the other way.
Must be easier to look the other way than it is to rock the boat.
Unfortunately, the game is suffering badly because nobody seems to care to step up and say \"not in my track\".
I think you have to blame the Stronach\'s and the Churchill Downses and the NYRA\'s for not being the people in this game you could look up to. Is there really one track or one track owner group where people say \"if you want to cheat in horse racing, you can cheat anywhere easily EXCEPT this place?\" Is there one track that we know of where cheating is NOT tolerated and there\'s a zero tolerance policy? No, everyone is the same, cheat a little, get caught, get a wrist slap and get back to business as usual. Nobody will hold it against you and nobody will care. There are hundreds of thousands of dollars of betting money changing hands on these cheats and yet, the fine is 2,500 and a 30 day suspension? How about a 20k fine and a 6 month suspension just for starters.
NYRA\'s got a guy training now with 75 violations. What ever happened to 3 strikes and you are out? Is it 100 strikes and you\'re out in racing?
