For those that still have not decided on the best dates to go, I would roll the dice with either July 28/29 or August 4/5.  In other words, \"I will take what is behind curtain number 2!

Does this mean you\'ll give the seminar?

Looks like TGAB finally wilted under the pressure and will be \"ducking\" the intense
yet good natured harassment Jimbo usually subjects him to at the seminar. Wouldn\'t be
surprised to see Jimbo stealthily materialize at one of Alan\'s 3 appearances.

You never know with TGAB, he might have opted out of Jimbo Dandy weekend due to a weak
card at SPAC.

Speaking of stealth, maybe this will be the year I purchase my first set of Ragozin
sheets and crash the seminar as the Clown formerly known as Chuckles a/k/a Cube.
Imagine I would get the same reception Hillary Clinton got in Egypt over the weekend
(think it was pretty cool that the crowd was chanting \"Mo-Ni-Ca, Mo-Ni-Ca\" at the
former first lady, the kind of moment that a lot of NY sports fans could appreciate).

Though we are still 12 days from the running of the Diana, expect to hear the
following from whomever leads the seminar: \"Winter Memories will be 4/5 yet she is
not even the third fastest runner in the race.\"

That would result in:
 
1. A record low turnout for the seminar that weekend.

2. A potential to do so poorly, that I would be unable, in good conscience, to criticize TGAB\'s track record in the seminars, since the $96 dollar horse...

No, that one was mine, except it was more than a nose and more than $96. Last race. Trainer and pedigree stats are a wonderful thing.

That\'s the race!  A Bruce Levine horse went off at 6-1 the race before and won by 10.  I had both winners and didn\'t play the double.  I am pretty sure the 56-1 horse did win by a nose, but who the hell cares, we all cashed.

Will you be making an appearance this weekend? I\'m going to get there mid card Saturday just to give Jerry some more grief...Playing the national on Sunday am before the card. in the not that I am bragging category but just coming off a 79 at Jack Place in Dublin Ohio Muirfield Village. 4 Birdies and a painful  Double Bogie on Tigers famous 16th hole. Could have come in under par on that back 9 if not for that one bad bounce....

Great to hear from you, and it seems like from your scores you\'ve made a pretty good
recovery from some of your ailments.

I was going to go up this weekend, spur of the moment (one of those deals where I
would call my wife at about 9AM and say \"Guess where I am, honey\") if Sunday\'s card
was any good, especially because the weather looks outstanding.

As it turns out, Sunday\'s card is quite possibly one of the worst I\'ve ever seen on a
weekend at the Spa, so I will wait until next weekend. Also planning on at least a
couple of days of Labor Day weekend.

Playing in the TG Open sounds very tempting, but will have to get to the driving range
a couple of times -- haven\'t played since October 2007. My game is such that a 4+ year
layoff probably wouldn\'t make much difference.

I see that your pal Catalano is stabled at the Spa this year; he looks live in races
5 and 9 on Saturday.

Sunday\'s is a very good betting card, better than Saturday.

A classic case of beauty being in the eyes of the beholder, subjective v
objective etc.

Sunday might have lots of great betting opportunities, but I will never know.
You have given me wide berth on this board to criticize NYRA and bemoan the
precipitous decline in racing in NY. It would be hypocritical for me to even
download the Form or TGs for a SUNDAY Saratoga card which
features 3 Bottom Claimers, a Maiden Claimer, 2 State Bred Allowance Races and
2 State bred MSWs plus the 2 stakes.

JB, I have no doubt in your ability to make a tasty chicken betting dish out of a
chickens--t card like this, but I can\'t support this kind of racing.

Saturday, on the other hand, starts off with a 100K stake which features some
graded stakes performers. The second race is for 2YOs and features the kind of
well bred prospect which we go to the Spa to see: Hot West, by Elusive Quality
out of the prolific stakes winning sprinter Xtra Heat, who according to my TG
data won 26 races lifetime, 25 of them stakes, but goes out for a trainer who has
done very little with 2YO firsters.

The middle of the card features mostly maidens, pass, but will come back for what
looks like a very competitive P4. They keep shortening the damn CCA Oaks -- it
used to be run at 1-1/2 miles, but by the time Campo and his crew are finshed
with it it will be a 6 furlong turf sprint.

Maybe I will go to the driving range Sunday. I literally haven\'t touched a golf
club in 4-1/2 years. If I can still move after a couple driving range sessions
and a nine hole blowout, maybe I will pre enter myself for the TG Open.
