Friday selections

I took spears on this board last year for sharing my success with Perfect Shirl after the fact.  So this year I\'m giving my opinions up front. I like a couple of 30-1 ML longshots tomorrow:

JUVENILE FILLIES: Almost An Angel- First time dirt in a crapshoot of a race, with Rosairo up for Ward.  Useful prep in a huge G1 field at Keeneland in her last.  Can\'t pass this one up at the price.

FILLY & MARE TURF:  Star Billing- Victor up for Shirreffs, dynamite pedigree for a turf route, rail draw, locally based, tactical speed at 12f with a good Del Mar poly TG number not far off the others in her, especially with the Euros and the fast ones having question marks.  I\'ll bet her to win and box her with Marketing Mix who was pounds the best from an outside draw in her G1 prep on this turf course in late September. I was there that day, she was a bingo free square in the horizontal wagers (thanks to TG) but I managed to not capitalize on that fact.

My only selection for today is Marketing Mix #9 in race 8. A couple of things here - she\'s fast enough, she\'s 8 for 15 lifetime (proven winner), won her tightener/prep over this firm turf back on Sept 29th and she\'s always carefully spotted by Proctor. Go-Go up enhances her off the pace run.

If she doesn\'t win she at least runs second. It\'s the only horse I\'m playing all day

Going against the grain with this pick but I\'ll be looking for 5-1 or better.  I looked at Nahrain a horse who jumped up in the BC last year and jump up at belmont last out.  I questioned then how the NY slow rat Hessonite was the fastest horse in the race  Nahrain won that race and was given a lifetime top.  Ok, maybe lasix was the reason for the jump up in figure.  Looking back why was the horse beaten by nearly 9 lengths at Goodwood but only 2 points less than the winner.  I would have loved the French horse for the Aga Khan if she was getting lasix but I\'ll go the other Euro The Fuge who is getting lasix.  Both of those horses are Group 1 winners while Nahrain, Zagora, Up and I\'m a Dreamer are all 2nd or 3rd tier Euros.  If I can get 5-1 on The Fugue, I\'ll take my chances.
