Fabulous 43!!

As I mentioned, we found 57 people that bought data from us over the last couple of years had qualified for the NHC this weekend. 43 have contacted us to make sure they have data in Vegas-- a record number of Thoro-Graph qualifiers.

Guys using our data have won the contest four times in the last ten years, including Beychok last year. (By the way, where do I find the speech he made)?

I must be nuckin futz, but I\'m going to take a swing at the
Last Chance qualifier on Thursday.

The tracks they are using are Big A, Laurel, Gulfstream, and
Tampa. Prizes are five seats to the big show and some
relatively trivial cash.

I\'ll be channeling some famous #44\'s tomorrow (Aaron, McCovey,
and yes, Reggie), swinging for the fences. Ain\'t gonna see
no clever POS 3-1 shots on my sheet, no sir.

Re \"God\", there was a great bit in \"The Open Man\" (Dave Debuschere\'s book about the 1970 championship season). DD was standing right near Jerry West when he launched the 63-foot shot that tied game 5 at the buzzer. As he described it, he watched West line up the fling with his usual perfect form and, as it arced towards the net, he said to himself, \"Oh my god, he is shooting that ball!!\"

My recollection is Debuschere (sp?) was standing under the basket when West\'s shot went through, staggered and came close to fainting. My guess is you can find it on Youtube.

You are correct. I misstated his location, but he was watching West as he backpedaled down the court, and the \"quote\" from the book is pretty close.
