Thoro Patterns
« on: May 05, 2013, 12:53:00 PM »
I only get sheets for the big betting days in the year. So I was quite surprised when looking at Derby sheets to \'discover\' that thoro-patterns were not trainer specific! Am I just naive? Wouldn\'t the pattern be a lot more meaningful if it were based on each trainer (i.e., not lumping Pletcher and Baffert in with Shug and Mott)? I realize the sample sizes would be smaller, and would not even be applicable in many cases, but as of now I plan to start ignoring that line of information. Has anybody found it to be \'consistently\' useful? Please don\'t cite isolated cases where it helped you cash a big ticket, because even my dog pees on the correct number in the program on occasion.

Presumably you read the explanatory material and understand the limitations of the Thoro-Patterns.

If we made the patterns trainer specific the sample size wouldn\'t just be smaller, they would be so tiny as to be statistically meaningless.
