Someone said that only 1 of the last 49 Preakness Winners broke fron the 1 hole. Is this true??

A potential ground saving trip on a speed favoring track is a bad place to be....wtf??

the #1 post won in 1960 and the next and last winner from the rail was Tabasco Cat in 1994. Orb is still the most likely winner but I will only have him on top in exotics. IMLD & WTC will get my money. If Departing goes off around 6-1 or higher it may be hard to pass up.

Tobasco Cat (1994) was the only one in that period to do so. Also I believe (not 100% sure) the last horse to wear #1 saddlecloth in a Preakness victory was Deputed Testamony in 1983.
