OMG, good thing your Yanks are not playing my O\'s! I\'d have to root against you.
Guys, don\'t get me wrong, I love baseball. I was a kid when the Robinson brothers played together in Baltimore. My first game was the one where Frank R. hit the first (and only I believe) ball out of the old Memorial Stadium. And I mean out of the park!. That ball sailed up over and right past the top corner of the left field bleachers. I can still see that white dot sailing across the sky. It was a double-header against the Cleveland Indians. My O\'s won both games. What a great day, What a great memory.
Baseball and horseracing have a lot in common. they are both, under the surface, very complicated sports. They are a thinker\'s game just as much as they are a sport of physical talent and skill. But apples are apples and oranges are oranges. And one worm doesn\'t ruin the bushel - as long as it doesn\'t reproduce successfully. (I had to say that, forgive me.)
But back to the topic at hand, looks like a great day of racing in Virginia. I had a local trainer tell me the turf course at Colonial is the best in the land. It looks like a two horse race. Either one is worthy. Victory is always sweet, but some are sweeter and those more than make up for the tough beats.
I am rooting for you JC. And I\'ll even root for your Yankees today. You are making some great memories with your kids. That\'s really important. And I know you know that.
Me today? Well, life is a constant flux of choices and consequences. I am off to a friend\'s to ride horses through the fields around here, so I will miss the races today. May be back in time to see your Warrior run. May he prove the Swiftest!
