any thoughts on Kauai Kate at Belmont?
« on: June 29, 2013, 08:04:17 AM »
Anyone have any thoughts on Kauai Kate today at Belmont? Visually this filly has been tailing off of late. Last two efforts were questionable.She beat absolutely nothing in the two back sprint Why is this filly not waiting for the Prioress or the Test? I don\'t know who can beat her but I am definitely not using her in PK4 and PK3.

She will offer no value today, but her only two losses came (a) at distances
where she may not have been comfortable to (b) 3 of the best 3YO fillies
running (Beholder, Midnight Lute, Close Hatches).

The others in this race as I see it are Fusaichiswonderful, who got tortured at
CD and must avoid the same fate from the rail today and I\'m Moms Favorite, who
goes out for a cold (at NYRA) Tony Dutrow.

In the nightcap, the uncoupled entry of Departures and Top Yank go out for
Naipaul Chatterpaul; each have had success over this course in the past. Each
are ridden by low percentage riders. Top Yank is especially interesting to me;
this one was previously trained by Edmund Pringle, a trainer who rarely wins
(not that Chatterpaul is making anyone forget Plain Ben Jones).

Kauai will also be the outside speed today as opposed to stuck on the inside like last.  I also like the other Pletcher (Fusaichi) but Kauai will have first jump on Fusaichi at the turn and this is 6fs so I don\'t know if she will be able to catch her..

Yeah, I know Pletcher scratched Kauai Kate but did anyone see the way that the other two Pletchers warmed up.How did he even put those two horses on the track? They were both crippled. The horse he put on the track for Mill House was a late scratch.  $850K purchase. He couldn\'t even jog off with the pony in the post parade. Rudy is done. Jacobsen is next!!!

Serves you right for posting your picks in advance.  Creative person that you are, I\'m sure you could find inventive ways to insert successful picks ex post facto to disguise your red boarding intent.  Or just put them on a neon sign like others do.
