Kittens Joy

Nice pull out section in todays DRF about this outstanding Sire and Son of a potential Super Sire, El Prado.

One question however. There were two Kittens Joy\'s trained by Dale Romans that ran in the 8th yesterday at The Spa. Each ran like....well....just normal horses.

Anybody see anything normal in the way these Ken Ramsey owned Kittens Joy\'s are running such as those Grade One winners last weekend and particularly that 2YO yesterday? How obvious does obvious have to be?

Well Silver if you are going down that road would you care to comment on the
performance of Palace Malice and Verrazano, who were subjected to enhanced NYRA
pre race scrutiny?

Also after the performances of Hungry Island and Orb, do you think trainers
will be rushing to send their horses to Fair Hill and its hyperbaric chamber?

Ritchie I though Orb ran well. Hungry Island I did not like because she isnt winning enough for 5/2. I took Pianist and thought Smiths ride was fine. She just was outgamed by a mare who is good now.

Palice Malice will probably get the best figure in that race. He broke flat footed and maybe they were being extra cautious about rushing him because of what happened on Derby Day and they had The Great Verazanno in there who needed a clear path to get off the rail and sit that dream rating trip he always has to have.

Verazanno is like Bellamy Road. And yes I get your point on the Monmouth Figures. I hope you get mine on the miracles being performed by one owner with one sire who he stands. If someone could crunch some data such as:

Stallions - All Runners Ranked by Earnings
Kittens Joy: Perfs 184 Wins 130 Money $7,198,576

Stallions -  Turf Runners Ranked by Earnings
Kittens Joy: Perfs 396 Wins 63 Money $5,388,495

And then show the distribution of One Owner vs the Other Owners along with a TG Performance Figure Average it might be startling. Maybe I am wrong. Maybe its just Good Luck.....

If the point is that the Ramsey owned Kittens Joy runners are outperforming
the rest of his get, I guess you have to factor in that Ramsey gets to choose
which KJ babies will be kept and raced and which will be sold at auction...

I will repeat an unpopular opinion I espoused about Orb in the Springtime:
He got very good for about four months, during which time he overcame very
little adversity. Perfect trips at Gulfstream, a track he liked and a
favorable pace set up at Churchill.
