Still a week left in March, but I think I have my first toss at any price
Derby runner.
Is there any doubt that owned by Ramsays/trained by TAP We Miss Artie is
Derby bound?
On dirt, WMA has a troubled 2nd in a 5f MSW at Belmont, 7th beaten 4 lengths
in the BC Juvie (TG 81) and 8th beaten 17 lengths in the FOY (TG
111).
Folks might point to Leroidsanimaux, who took the Derby with only one dirt
race on his resume, and say that my toss trigger finger is too itchy.
Leroidsanimaux put up a TG 32 in his Spiral win; We Miss Artie
apparently earned an 85 Beyer which historically would not make him relevant
with regards to past Derby preps.
Good job by KMart and Doc Billy on their contest work. I believe that the big
purse year end tourneys are a much more realistic manner of pursuing the
elusive life changing score, given the remote chance of bringing down a big P6
with a manageable investment. I tied for 282nd in the NTRA freebie, nothing
to be proud of, but probably my best out in three tries over the past few
years.
Surprised to see that so many T-generates follow wrestling. In 1985, when
stationed at Keystone, a friend dragged me to the Spectrum for wrestling
There wasn\'t an empty seat in the house, and we sat in front of a father with
his eight year old or so son, who spent the entire time trying to convince
his father that the spectacle was fake. Similarly, I heard numerous arguments
between Grover G \"Bud\" Delp and his twenty or so year old son Gerald
regarding the authenticity of wrestling matches; these arguments always ended
with father grabbing the phone off the desk and saying \"Here, call the
bookie, if he takes a bet on a wrestling match, then its real.\"
