After my Derby week post early yesterday morning I ventured to the Albany tele theater only to find that Capital OTB had a gun to their head via CHD Inc doubling their signal price. They operated Tuesday under a one day contract but Capital OTB had no wagering on CHD on Wednesday; they came to agreement late in the day but no wagers were taken.

Totally ridiculous and insane business wise Derby week!

I spent the day with a packed house of about 30 people betting off shore but you were welcome to bet Tampa and Turf Paradise in house. REALLY !!!!!

This is what their website says as of 1:49 AM Thursday:
Attention Customers Churchill Downs is pending, we are working on resolving the situation.
They better get it resolved otherwise I\'m emptying out my Capital account for the weekend & going further south to the Meadowlands (I\'m flying out of Newburgh) & putting my Oaks/Derby DDs in there along with the advance Derby bets because there\'s no way I\'m traveling with the $ I plan to bet this weekend.  If I have to bet at Churchill instead of OTB I\'m going to be pretty PO\'d, plus I can\'t bet the last race because my bus leaves Papa John\'s at 8.

I\'m obviously not sleeping much since I have to get all my handicapping done today.  If the website is right & they still haven\'t settled, is the Saratoga Racino taking Churchill & can I just bet the Friday stuff there & even open an account if Capital OTB is questionable?

Thanks for the info. If I have to, I\'ll take the money out tonight & go to the Racino around 10 tomorrow. I don\'t have to leave for Newburgh until around noon.

Per Jack at the tele yesterday afternoon about 400 Capital OTB signed and faxed the contract to CHD. I\'ll be in Saratoga today if they are not taking Churchil.

They list Oaks advance betting & Oaks/Derby DD, but not Churchill and if you hit the Oaks stuff it\'s not the right field.  I\'m still concerned.

Update: I called Schenectady and they said the contract was sent to Churchill, but they haven\'t returned their signed part yet.  Meanwhile Churchill is not available today.
