My god if you go through all the trouble to both drug and have the jockey stiff the
horse in California, you ought to get a better price at CD on Derby Day than 2/1.

(Looking at the picture of Ky racing official Ned Bonnie, it is quite apparent that
Lindsey Nelson\'s tailor is still alive).

Perhaps the best Derby day put over was accomplished by Jerry Romans (Dale\'s father)
in 1988, when Briarwood (or was it Blairwood?) returned $71 in the first race on the
Derby card. I guess it just proves that running a ringer is much more profitable
than doping/stiffing a horse.

While following the Blood Horse link Boscar provided, I came across an outstanding
article about recently deceased trainer Dickie Small. The article is award - worthy
and the subject of the article belongs in Racing\'s Hall of Fame.

Ritchie the reason why that one at CD got smoked out was early that morning someone walked into the Track and dumped a Suitcase on Seeking the Gold in the Derby to Show. Except he put the bet down on the horse you mentioned who was owned by Dave Hall.

Hall was at an annual pre-Derby Brunch Party with his usual friends and was not at the races and later claimed he knew nothing or even placed a bet. The Show Wager triggered an internal examination at the Track. I mean seriously who dumps a suitcase of cash on a 35-1 Bomb in the 2nd race on Derby Day. The person who placed the Wager was found and the error was corrected. Seeking the Gold ran out of the money and Winning Colors won.

There are more FBI Agents running around Louisville at Derby than people think. In regards to connections tanking a race, the Nets removed all their Starters after the 3rd Quarter of Game 1 against the Heat when down only 13 in order to rest for Game 2. The Line was like 8. What\'s the difference....;-)

I really have no problem with a $71 put over a quarter of a century ago.

The Ky folks should have researched a little more closely before letting an
entrant in a maiden race from California or anywhere outside the Bluegrass
realm step in the gate.

I think if the KY folks had snooped just a bit, after seeing that the horse
was DQd at SA, they would have discovered what they now know, that the rider\'s
handling of the \"aced\" horse was being scrutinized.

The ultimate insult that they fooled no one with their \"trank and yank\"
tactics.

Interesting to read \"comments\" saying that acepromazine apparently has
diuretic effects, making it possibly the world\'s oldest lasix adjunct.

Enough drugs this is the Triple Crown and we have had a refreshing lack of
Triple Crown drug theories and TAP conspiracy theories during this spring.
