You would think the thoroughbred horse population in the world is about 40 based on NBC\'s coverage.  

Get exclusive rights to all the races and then not show them.  Instead keep ramming the same stories down everybody\'s throat for 2 hours.

Morons.  The Triple Crown can\'t go back to ABC/ESPN soon enough.

Seriously, how do they go from coverage of the days races on \"\"theIr\" sports network to totally disregard the rest of the days races..it\'s as if nothing else was going on this afternoon? Complete DISGRACE.

Not only that, they showed no post race festivities after 630 pm. The time slot should have went to 7pm.

After a stellar performance on Derby day during which all the stakes run during
NBCSN/NBC coverage were shown, things got ugly yesterday when NBC did not show
(not even a replay) of the Sir Barton or the Dixie, to me a giant step backwards.

NBC announced briefly at the beginning of its 4:30 coverage that additional
coverage was available at NBC.com. And yes the race was available live on HRTV
and through video feed from your ADW, but the point is that NBC certainly could
have made four minutes of time to show these races.

If NBC is trying to tailor the coverage to the average fan, is it good for racing
that NBC gives the impression that during their 2 hours on air only one race is
run? Are there going to be some new fans going to Belmont Day expecting five
hours of revelry, drunken incoherent celebrities, and big hats, capped off by
just one horse race?

Yeah that interview with stoner swimmer Michael Phelps really enhanced the
average/casual fan\'s viewing experience...

Maybe in the future NBC can partner with TMZ to cover all of the beautiful
people at the event.

Mainstream advertisers seemed to have abandoned network racing coverage,
giving way to multiple BetAmerica cheesecake ads with Kayla Stra and Chantal
Sutherland Kruse.

Best work by NBC was getting to the bottom of why exactly the filly was
entered in the race, the trainer switch, etc.

Diasgree COMPLETELY with this.

There are average people who tune in who know nothing about horse racing.  They have no idea that during a random Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 there\'s a handful of races going on somewhere in the country.  That\'s fine.

Casual people LOVE races. They love the Olympics. They love auto racing. They love seeing objects racing towards a finish line. They pick who they like by names and root for them. They get as excited as we do down the stretch as if we had $200 on the winners nose.

Not showing the Dixie was beyond stupid and does nothing to enhance the sport.  It would not kill NBC\'s coverage to have Moss and Bailey breaking down an undercard race for 5-10 minutes (Hell they are 45 minutes apart), and then show the race.  There\'s plenty of time for their human interest (aka snorefest) stories.

Just mindnumbingly stupid.

I am guessing Baffert was against running the filly in the race hence the trainer change .  My apology if this was mentioned in the telecasts.  As it turned out it was a sin that they ran the horse due to the negative effect running the horse had on the race.
