Anyone hear how CC came out of the Preakness?  Not that I put too much into the old \"he ate through the bottom of the feed bag\" ....but curious nonetheless.

The nasal strip kept him from getting to the bottom of the bag.

Not true.  This was in today\'s NY Times.  He made it to the bottom.

As for California Chrome’s health, Sherman said the colt had not coughed since Thursday at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore.

He said he would scope the colt in the next few days just to be safe, but said several times that the horse “has not missed an oat.”

“We don’t change; we’re pretty consistent in how we train this horse,” Sherman said. “He’s eating very good. He’s licking the bottom of the feed tub.”

Well if it was in the NY Times then…….

Surely the information is legitimate.

It\'s a direct quote.  I don\'t think the Times is unreliable in terms of quoting a guy?  There\'s a reason these things are cliches.  What else are you going to talk about two weeks out?  It would be great if he said \"you know my horse look like crap now, these two races have knocked him on his ass.\"  You can\'t blame the Times for Sherman being optimistic and positive and seeing the bottom of that tub!

Some here have noted he dropped his head while walking back to the winners circle, supposedly a sign of severe tiredness.

My guess, was trying to graze.

And the way you know the difference between the Times and everyone else is how big a story Blair was.

It doesn\"t matter what he did after the Preakness .  What matters is what he\'s going to do in the Belmont Stakes.

Just taking my shot against this fine literary establishment (NY Times).  Thanks for helping make my point.

Remember that Charles Barkley once complained that he was misquoted...in his
autobiography.

Speaking of newspapers, what sporting newspaper has angered many by charging for
content which was once free, but apparently did not put any of its added income into
redundant offsite data storage?
