"Barely fit enough to run," PALACE ran a -5.25...

Trainer Linda Rice is quoted in today\'s Daily Racing Form about her New York-bred PALACE, who won the True North Handicap last out off a 4 month layoff, an effort that came back a preposterously fast, bone-rattlingly epic -5.25 Thorograph:

\"He was barely fit enough to run.\"

A very telling and troubling disconnect there.

John,

Are you confusing fitness and soundness. A perfectly sound horse coming off a layoff may not be 100% fit( presumed to be short)

Certain that JB will be cited for speeding re the neg -5.25 TG for Palace.Bakken a big new top out of there and Salutos only backed up app a point???

Mike, you are right and wrong at the same time, the number is clearly wrong as no DJ horse ever backs up! Happy Holiday weekend to all and good luck with all your wagers.
