Once again, we are faced with a colt who ran fast and won in a sprint race stretching out, stepping up in (purse $$) against more experienced competitors.

Runhappy had a poor start in his maiden race or else he arguably would have made the lead early and led gate to wire. Furthermore he ran greenly in the stretch. Not the kind of professional behavior that gives one confidence.

But he blitzed the turn and is 8/1 on the morning line. The trainer confident enough to van him down the road or just overly optimistic owners? The colt has some ability and in this case the Sire Super Saver looks a plus.

My old fashioned %e considerations put him in the doubtful area but my optimism tells me if he could miraculously learn to rate a little (even if on the lead)  he\'ll make the others look ordinary which I think they are.

So Runhappy you are my choice @ >5/1

I kind of like the Pletcher if his odds are anything close (9/2 or up) to the ML of 8\'s. 1st lasix, bad 2nd out can be explained by track condition (along with poor break), pedigree on both sides says begging for two turns, and he cost a bunch more than the ave MDO\'s went for at that sale.

Yep! add Mike Smith, a solid w/o and Savoy Stomp has most of the boxes checked. 8/1 seems impossible, 9/2 would be nice indeed. This spot looks easier than his last two. Makes a lot of Sense!

I can hardly wait until after the race and we are told to toss the FG horses for the 3rd year in a row!

I\'m in the Pletcher camp on this race too, three year olds shipping from one circuit to another for the big purses have done well in recent years.  First time lasix, two turns, and the Nashua two back (albeit he was in a different zip code) that featured El Kabier and Bloefeld.

For me, this race is unbettable until I see the odds 5 minutes from post time.  Toss the likely favorite because of the draw.  I like the possibility of the 7, but will need more than 5-1.  Think the 2 gets the jump on them, given the inside post and early speed.  Amoss with the 4 can\'t be disregarded.  An improvement makes him a real player.  Pletchers always a threat, but will be bet down too far.

In a bold 1st after the race move, I have decided to toss the two 99/1 Durochenko shippers that he supplemented?

Happy to see the crowd depress the odds on the #\'s 6 & 7. Kept me on the sidelines. #7 quite a bull in the china shop may have bothered every other horse in the race.

Slower than the filly race, a lot slower than the older horse race . . .

Winner was heavy and the Pletcher runner didn\'t have a great trip, but yeah - toss the rest.
