dont post much but I really like this one going into the Derby now. was hoping he would win today for the $ but that effort looked great. looked wide on both turns and still finished well. should have all the stamina in the world and will be a big price in the Derby.

I like it a lot.

will get the same figure as Carpe Diem, and ran the same final 1/16. and he will be a huge price.

Upstart looks a bit better after the Wood. not saying Frosted is anything special, and there is that throat thing that complicates things, but he\'s at least pretty solid after losing 7 lengths in ground an pulling away with a 12.4 final 1/8. the GP surface was brutal.

interested in winning.

Aside from that, what answer could D Moon possibly have for Carpe Diem, who did more running, beat him easily and has upside.

he will be a big price, and obviously for a reason. but if he comes out of this race well I see no reason why he doesn\'t have an honest shot in the Derby. playing him in exotics almost goes without saying for me.

I think his running style also suits the Derby. like Tavasco eluded to, there should surely be some honest pace in the Derby.

a lot can happen between now and then, but if he comes out of todays performance well, I think he is definitely a horse to look at, that\'s all.

Every year a Danzig Moon emerges as a Derby \"contender\" off of a closing effort that appears to beg for more distance. Sorry, but passing the likes of  Ocho Ochoa Ocho, Frammento, and Classy Class doesn\'t quite remind me of Monarchos or Real Quiet.

As for the exotics, maybe 3rd.

Major knock is that Danzig Moon rallied wide which is where every winner but one was yesterday at Kee.

It was Tale of Ekati and I had that Superfecta.  Also the tri.  Only had a $1 bet though so half of the $58K.  Excellent filly finished second and that was the horse I really keyed.

His boxscore was 6-3-1-1, so 50% winner and 86% ITM

In graded stakes, he was 4-1-1-1  33% Win 75% ITM

In Grade 1s, he was 2-0-1-1 0% winner and 66% ITM (those two grade 1s were the Derby and the Belmont).

The only horses to ever beat him in a Grade 1 were Big Brown (who he avenged in the Belmont), Eight Belles (who died beating him), and Da\'Tara (who was the only horse to beat him in the Belmont).  In those two Grade 1 races, he beat 24 horses in the both races combined (including twice those who were in both races).

I sure would have loved to have a horse like that.  Only reasonable blemish I can find looking at him was only having a 6 race career.
