1st Gelding

Curious if you guys have done any statistical analysis on the 1st Gelding note. For example, whether it produces a jump up or improvement in figure. Database is not big but would be interested to know if you plan on adding to the list of stats on the Full Sheets per trainer - where i know the data set is tiny. Thanks. Michael

It\'s been looked at elsewhere. Not really possible since the new first time gelding reporting is not always the date the horse was gelded,it\'s the date reported.Checked a few first time geldings reported in NY and the horses were gelded a couple of starts back.Useless Jockey Club should spend some of their warchest on something like accurate reporting...dont hold your breath.

13% reported first time gelding won in NY from 56 samples,ROI unknown, tops etc unknown.

I did a small sample review of this for the a couple of months of racing at Santa Anita 2014 spring meet.  Winners were less than 10%. Interesting fact was finding two non reported winners.
