Of Particular Interest to Jimmy C and "Lynchie"

NYRA now carding 5 furlong turf races.

\"Lynchie\" should be lobbying Panza to write a five furlong turf stake race. Make
it interesting, let it be run under Fall Highweight like conditions with all
runners toting a hefty package. Certainly a chance for Jimmy C and Wes Welker to
rekindle their bromance.

Race could be called the PJ Campo Stakes, named for the man who took one of the
largest turf courses in the US and made it the home to so many turf sprints.

Did they reschedule the Evangeline race?

haven\'t heard anything about the Evangeline race yet but I am on the lookout everyday on that topic

if anyone on the board has heard anything, please share

we call Evangeline regularly to ask but they don\'t usually answer the phone.

The Spa has 2 listed 5f turf stakes and Parx has the two for good money in July and then Sept.

The Parx spots are the most logical but there are other good horses pointing for those (including Ben\'s Cat who runs the same TG figs we do on a firm course).

I would like to go the Spa route just because it\'s the Spa but I doubt that\'s ultimately where we go.

Have to decide on Breeders Cup nomination for him in the next 30 days.  We will likely go ahead and do it but I am pretty much guaranteeing a monsoon for Breeders Cup weekend if I go ahead and spend that money.

I know I have said this before but this time I PROMISE that we won\'t be running on anything but a firm turf course.  

Johnny V said the turf course on Belmont day was very boggy, especially early in the card.  PA is a very big heavy horse so he just sinks down into the bog.  No good.

From what I have seen of the working dynamic between you and \"Lynchie\",
if you vehemently insist that the horse be entered at Parx, we will see
PA at the Spa.

Now you are talking about gambling and speculation at a high level. My
unsolicited advice is to have someone at the stable go through all the
historical weather data for Lexington for that date; then go through the
charts for Keeneland fall meets and see how many days they were rained off the
turf and how many races were run on a turf less than firm; then maybe use
connections to acquire long term weather forecasts.....

totally agree that ideally we would find that out but since BC this year is at 5.5 and there are plenty of nice purse races (Parx and maybe Evangeline redo) at 5f, I am a bit less worried about finding that out right now.

I do think he can get the 6f on a firm course and one day hopefully we can find that out

There is an old saying in KY...if you don\'t like the weather, \"hang around because it\'s about to change\"! Last year Lexington had snow, previous year we had a massive storm (moved Trick or treating to another night). If you\'re looking for dry/fast surface, recent years have been anything but. With that in mind, due to our location in the middle of the country gulf air and artic air show up often. You could get anything from 63 and clear to a snow storm. Would love to see PA show up and run his A game. My fingers are crossed for good weather. We\'re due!
