What do they do when they seal the track? What exactly does that mean? How does it effect the running?

Essentially they bring out rollers and pack it down so that rain tends to wash off it towards the infield rather than saturate the soil surface to cushion. Thats my understanding...they squash it down.

That\'s correct.The problem with sealed tracks is that some horses handle it and some hate it. There is almost nothing to go by as to how each horse will perform on that type of surface.I have also noted no speed or closers bias on NY sealed tracks.Does anyone know how a sealed track at CD plays? Help!!!

CD dries faster than any track I have ever seen, especially after it is sealed. If it stops raining soon, it will be muddy/good by the final race.
