It\'s a good thing all it takes is one swing sometimes!
TGAB crushed the Spa 8th yesterday as he keyed 44/1 Candid Desire with the 3 fast horses in the race giving out an $800 tri and $3200 super.

He nailed it at the windows and unfortunately none of his friends were on the same page. Alan was not having a good wagering weekend at all up to then.

A small but select group was in attendance, another large crowd that trickled in late and left early on another simply beautiful day. It was amazing to see how empty the Spa was by 6:00 while AP was putting on his show. The 11 race cards are simply too much for the backyarders with kids. It makes a long day here as well, yours truly had 3 straight days of leaving the house at 10:00 and not getting back until 8:00. That schedule really wears on you.

Lil Rachel put on quite a show in the 2nd race and will earn a very nice first out figure. Maggie hated her in the paddock, noting how small she was as compared to both of her large parents, noting just about every other horse in the paddock looking better to her keen eyes. She loved my selection Nickname who took a late blast at the windows promptly going to her knees when the gate opened then bumping the prized fillie pretty good as she got up to run.

A fun weekend, got to see lots of T-generates, treaded water Friday and Saturday, got shutout yesterday ouch! So we have a lil ditch, not a hole yet to dig out of to balance the books. 9 down 31 to go, I\'ve been there for 6 so far and taking today off to get some work done Monday and Tuesday. The weather looks real bad this afternoon as some serious storms are all over the area.

Richiebee was on his best behavior truly showing restraint on Saturday night as he went from bar to bar in search of the Mets game on TV ending up at the harness track who had the Yankees on 4 TV\'s but no Mets. Big weekend for the Queens crew could it be  subway series in a year when most picked both NY teams to barely play 500 ball?

I also hit the tri and super and Dudley hit the super.  Also had a big double (and p3) going with the 2 that you suggested, so had excitement early and late in the race.

Maybe Alan with contribute the 10% in your honor!

I fear Maggie is falling into the same trap as the nyra cappers, failing to focus on what matters  and drifting off into esoterica that means very little or nothing.

Was she really \'small\' (I didn\'t think it was that pronounced) or just small vs what amazon she was expecting to see?

Me thinks it is still about speed and partially explains why I don\'t see any Clydesdale fillies.

That said, I respect Maggie, because of the voices here that appreciate her.

Agree she is good.
But Dens Legacy had a classic TG longshot pattern.  A little slower than the favs but TOP-BOUNCE-BACK TO TOP and today-BOOM.

I bet the 2, who was a LOT faster (3 points), as was the favorite. You\'re talking about playing a heavily raced 5yo to jump at least 3 points-- you can use him, but it\'s tough to play him on top.

 Don\'t get me wrong, I was among the first here to appreciate her skills. Over time she\'s been given a lot more air time, and says so much in a given race that it can be hard to get to the meat of it.

  Some real info can be had, as in her reporting the horse that \'almost, kinda\' flipped.

I checked the Redboard Room and Candid Desire was not mentioned in the analysis. What am I missing?

I did not take your comments as critical. Was just reacting to the size of two year old fillies as a handicapping angle. Again no criticism to each his/her own.

Maggie does seem to be popular I\'ve never heard or watched her but will add to my list of folks whose act I want to catch.

While I did not play Den\'s Legacy in what I thought was an interesting race because of Green Speedball\'s disruptive presence and his declining form I did notice DL\'s 21/1 number which had merit. Hated the price on the #1 and #2.

What really surprised me was that the winner came from last which is something he didn\'t figure to do in my view.

As for the Maggie thread, she like a racing form, TG sheets, watching the tote board, trainer intent or throwing darts at a board is merely one more bullet in the chamber. It only takes one for a kill but its nice to have 6 just in case!

In this particular case she may have been shocked by the stature of this fillie bred from a pair of monsters, maybe it was her first look at her?

My stand against was there was a precocious fillie inside her who was likely to be overlooked as well as Bernadini (AP Indy) not being great first out sires and preferring more distance.

Uncle Bill put it in perspective after Maggie\'s comments that Rachel though physically imposing was one of the ugliest horses he had ever seen in 50 years on the race track.
