Was sitting in Living Room Downs early Wednesday morning and saw on the NYRA
website that there was to be free admission and $1.00 weenies to commemorate
Saratoga Springs\' 100th birthday.
Free admission? Dollar weenies? Well worth a three and a half hour drive I was
going to make the next day anyway.
A quick shower. I shook Ms Richiebee gently, whispered \"Spa\" and was off.
As to the TG Open, I enter this year\'s event with even less preparation than
last year (2 trips to the Driving Range last year, none this year). Sean tried
to sandbag me last Sunday and tell me he was not playing well, but off last
year\'s easy score, he could certainly bounce and win. Sean won free lifetime
admission to TG seminars as last years prize and already has a new TG hat, so
JB will have to get inventive with this year\'s prize. Moosepalm will be happy
to know I am still carrying ancient equipment and Dick Powell will probably
not appreciate my \"kinder and gentler\" assessment of NYRA and Chris Kay.
I have not been traveling with a laptop, but (let this serve as a warning) a
full report will be filed once the dice stop rolling.
Frank, someone else will have to cover the Seminar as the current schedule
calls for me to ship out Friday night and follow the contentious Whitney card
from the friendly confines of Living Room Downs, but rapidly and constantly
changing plans have been a theme of the last few days.
Maybe one of the many \"I read every day but never post\" T-generates can dabble
in some seminar coverage...
