Playing Tampa on Sat.  Watching the replays.  Is this the worst race caller around?...and he\'s been there for quite awhile, I think.  Any similarity between his call and the actual race is purely coincidental.

It is always easy to be critical.   And we horseplayers are amongst the worst.

But u are right, he is HOrRENDOUS.   Really bad.   The only race caller I can put in the same bucket as being that bad is Battsglia.   Coin flip as to who is worst.  Battsglia slightly more accurate, but the voice is a killer.

Makes u appreciate the all time greats like the recently retired Durkin and Denman.

His voice takes some getting used to. I used to hate him, now I find him decent enough.  I watch a lot of TB racing and he\'s not bad. Maybe you watched a race he just called poorly, like any guy can do.

I was just noticing the El Camino Real goes @ GGF today, it used to be run @ Bay Meadows didn\'t it? Anyway, the race appears to have attracted a diverse group. H.G. Motion duo, a Godolphin, a Gio Ponti and a gaggle of NorCal\'s.

Any insights?

Yes, used to be run at Bay Meadows and a race my friends and I would attend often.

Speaking of track announcers, Santa Anita will be auditioning a couple guys from out of the country the next 2 weekends. One from Tokyo and the other from England. Don\'t know if these are the only other guys in the running besides Wrona and Mirahmadi.
