He danced for those at minstrel shows and county fairs...

throughtout the south.

He spoke with tears of 15 years how his dog and him...

travelled all about

His dog up and died... He up and died...and after 20 years he still grieves.

Mr. Bojangles.... Mr. Bojangles....Mr Bojangles....

daaaance.

He\'s telling us that crying or caring about an animal, dog or horse, is stupid and melodramatic, like the corny old Mr. Bojangles song. You\'re dumb if you care about your dog dying, or Barbaro---the mutual tickets are all that matter. It\'s a classy and sympathetic thing to say by a real sweetheart. Hopefully one of you will get to tell him that in person someday...but why do I think that might never happen?

I will take this as a sympathetic gesture. If so, thanks CTC.

Unaccustomed as I am to defending the Clown, while that I think his original Barbaro post was as insensitive as hell, his Bojangles reference was actually supposed to be sympathetic. The Mr. Bojangles song is a sad tale of a guy that so loved his old dog that he still grieves his loss after 20 years.

Then I stand corrected. Its so rare, you never know when he actually has something nice to say. I\'ll delete the previous post.

P-Dub, I know what you mean regarding ctc.

I\'d like to extend my sympathies as well. I went through the same thing when I had to have my 19 YO cat put down last year. Somehow when they manage to pull through one crisis after another, you get to believe you will never lose them. It makes the end all the harder to accept, like with Barbaro. The only good thing is how they make it clear that it\'s time to those that care for them.
