SW hit the 1/4 in :24.7 and the 1/2 in :49.4. if running a half in :49.4 constitutes being \"rushed early\", Spring Waltz should have been pulling tourists in Central Park, not running in a grade 2 horse race.
her big figure came down at GP, where she hit the 1/2 in :47 flat, and note that part of that 1/2 is run around a turn.
the draw/ride cost her 2 lengths max, and wrangling her back to last to save ground on the 1st turn would not have made a difference.
