Gotta tip your hat (not mine) to Dutrow for the work he has done with this horse. Got him about now last summer moved him up big time and he has held his form for about 10 months with a Dubai trip to boot. Runs on any track and into any kind of pace.

Dutows comments after were fine also. \"Ran good, Edgar rode him good, looking at the Forego then the maynbe the BC.

Let\'s keep it at that until he proves he is capable of handling the big stage. For he needs to let his Hands do his talking.

What\'s this say about the 2 fillies who ran the same distance on the same track on the same day, and out-timed this guy by 3 to 4 fifths seconds?

There were some weather changes,maybe track too, later in the card but Beyer has the filly, Indyanne, outrunning Benny.Since Benny was wider and under more weight, he\'ll get a better fig.

TG had that Northern Cali filly monstress, Indyanne, questionably very slow going in and she will come out with a huge new TG top.I think she was faster going in which seems confirmed by her performance yesterday.She\'s coming to take on Indian Blessing in the Test at the SPA which should be a great race if they both come in at their best.

I heard the line of volunteers to do the dirty work (pleasure work??) was pretty long.

Regardless of any explanations BTB had for his relatively slower time, it\'s rare that horses run as fast as those fillies did at Calder.

It will be fun to watch both as they go forward.

Meanwhile, what on earth could Castellano have been thinking on Spring Waltz in the ROTW?  Maybe he wasn\'t thinking.  Chances are he got an earful from Frankel after dismounting.

What did he do wrong?.....I looked at the video and couldn\'t see anything...Except that horse was just dead today.

Unbridled Belle flipped in the paddock and was almost scratched.The winner, HL was much the best.

Even for Calder, Bennys 1.11 and change is seriously slow for stakes sprinters esp in light of how fast the fillies ran.Beyer gave both fillies 108 and BTB 105.

How do you explain that on the winner. She had already been given about four chances to get back to her previous years top and she hadn\'t.

The other favorites did not run so maybe the race came up slow.

He rushed her early and kept her 3 - 4 wide the entire way.  She would not have beaten the winner regardless, but could have finished better.  She was never hurried in her Gulfstream races, so this was a tactical choice, given the expected pace scenario.  Once Castellano knew he couldn\'t pressure the front runners,didn\'t need to pressure them and was getting hung wide, he should have placed her in her normal position and made the one run.  An above average jockey making an average mistake.

SW hit the 1/4 in :24.7 and the 1/2 in :49.4. if running a half in :49.4 constitutes being \"rushed early\", Spring Waltz should have been pulling tourists in Central Park, not running in a grade 2 horse race.

her big figure came down at GP, where she hit the 1/2 in :47 flat, and note that part of that 1/2 is run around a turn.

the draw/ride cost her 2 lengths max, and wrangling her back to last to save ground on the 1st turn would not have made a difference.

Considering the pace was very slow.  It seems that if he took her back further away from the pace she would have finished even further back than fourth position as she would not have been able to make up any groud on the horses in front.  It just seems that this was a pace that went very slow early and they sprinted home as the two that started the race finished 1-2.  I Can\'t blame Castellano for anything here after reviewing the replay.

Pretty typical of outside drawing horses with competitive figs but no positional speed, a very low win rate.
